The ultra-small form factor of the VN-100 enables designers to integrate a high-performance industrial grade IMU/AHRS directly into head mounted displays and optics without requiring a external sensor enclosure. The advanced sensor fusion software available on the VN-100 enables automatic calibration for magnetic hard & soft iron effects caused by nearby components such as battery packs. Utilizing the Vector Processing Engine (VPE) sensor fusion algorithm, the VN-100 is capable of providing drift free high-accuracy orientation output in the presence of magnetic interference.


Ground Based Robotics

Ground based robotic vehicles operate in a wide range of environments where magnetic interference makes heading determination difficult. The VN-100 utilizes proprietary adaptive filtering and disturbance rejection algorithms which provide more accurate and stable heading measurements in the presence of magnetic interference. Vibration from nearby electric motors can be eliminated utilizing the onboard adaptive filtering capabilities provided by the Vector Processing Engine algorithm.

The VN-100 is well suited for underwater vehicle applications where precise heading, pitch and roll measurements are required. Each VN-100 is individually calibrated at room temperature and over the full operating temperature range of the sensor to correct for sensor bias, misalignment and scale factor errors. The VN-100 utilizes a robust quaternion based attitude estimation algorithm which enables the sensor to operate in any orientation free from problems associated with gimbal lock. The VN-100 is the only AHRS in its class to offer onboard hard & soft iron calibration capabilities. This feature makes it possible to compensate for magnetic distortion created from nearby electric motors and batteries while the device is in the field, eliminating the need to perform costly field testing.
